Now playing: Ultraviolence

I can’t get enough of this album.

Lana del Rey just released her third studio album, ‘Ultraviolence,’ and it’s dark, entrancing, beautiful, mesmerizing… it’s both easy and complicated all at the same time. According to an article by BBC, Lana says the album is “…a little more stripped down but still cinematic and dark.”

After her second studio release in 2012, Born to Die, she often dismissed the idea of releasing another album because she’d “already said everything I wanted to say.” I will probably not be the first to admit, I’m glad she found more to say! This album is great and it is available to listen to on Spotify for free.

My boyfriend likes to ask me the strangest questions ever, and one day he asked, “If you were forced to only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what song would you chose?”  It took me about 30 seconds to answer, “West Coast,” by the Queen herself. My reasoning? It’s easy to listen to in any situation, and because of the relaxing vibes the song gives off, I would be less likely to get sick of this song if it was on repeat. After giving the entire album a listen, I would say that assessment is accurate with all of the songs. Enjoy! (His answer to that question, in case you were curious: No Woman No Cry).
